B.B. Energy is fast becoming a key player in the Eastern Mediterranean region in transportation and production.
Transportation is one of the fastest developing Public Sectors in the area which is attracting considerable investments by the Governments and which is based on the expansion of the existing roads and highway networks. Consequently, the demand on Bitumen and other asphaltic products boomed, especially in the Mediterranean basin where
availability of these products for export is limited to Spain, Italy, Greece and Egypt from time to time. B.B. Energy ships Bitumen on board the M/T Sofia. She has a capacity of 3 ,000 metric tons and voyages with the Mediterranean Region (Italy, Greece, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon and Algeria).
At the same time, all of North African countries except Egypt and the East Mediterranean countries are pure importers of these products not to mention the East and West African regions, which are in an accelerated development process.
For production, B.B. Energy is developing a Bitumen product refinery that can produce 1200 tons of heavy crude oil per day, which is capable of producing up to 350,000 to 400,000 tons of different grades of Bitumen and other hydrocarbon products.
In 2008, B.B.Energy traded and transported up to 100,000 tons of Bitumen and has plans to increase its volume by 2010.
