LONDON- Energy trader BB Energy has hired Chahid Jarmouni to set up a renewable energy and new ventures division based in London, the company said.
Jarmouni started his new role on Tuesday as global head of origination and new ventures. Previously, he was at Glencore for 10 years working on origination and structuring of oil and gas deals globally.
Prior to that, Jarmouni was based at BNP Paribas in Paris, covering metals and mining in Latin America and Africa, and later in Bahrain, managing the commodities and power business in the Middle East.
The oil and gas trading firm, founded over 50 years ago in Lebanon, said it aims to build a portfolio of renewable energy assets globally including solar farms and power storage.
